Robert "Rv" Vaughn Lamer

Robert Vaugh "RV" Lamer, age 79 of Cobden, died Monday, March 8, 2021 at his home. He was born November 5, 1941 in Anna, the son of R.E. "Babe" and A. Catherine "Kitty" (Mann) Lamer. He married Linda Blankenship on December 30, 1967 in Morganfield, KY. RV was a true outdoorsman. He loved it all, fishing, camping, horseback riding, and generally being outside. He loved to pick the strings on his guitar and enjoyed his family immensely. He worked for many years as an administrator in the Job Corps. Robert is survived by his loving wife Linda; children, Julie (Kelly) O'Nan of Henderson, KY, Angela Lamer of Bowling Green, KY, and Katherine (Ryan) Smith of Goldsboro, NC; grandchildren, Reece (Elizabeth) O'Nan, Myles Lamer and Fiancé Abby Blackwell, Patrick Smith, and Tanner Smith; one great grandchild Oliver O'Nan; and sister, Sue Ella Rich of Cookeville, TN.; many other relatives and friends . He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara Lee Pearson. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden with Rev. Kerry Bean officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden City Cemetery in Cobden. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour of 2:00 p.m. at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden. Everyone attending will be required to wear a face covering and observe social distancing guidelines. Memorial contributions can be made to either the First Presbyterian Church in Cobden or the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
