Rick Alsip

Rick Alsip, age 59 of Dongola, died Saturday, March 2, 2019 in the Union County Hospital in Anna. He was born April 1, 1959 in Elgin, the son of Albert Lee and Mildred (Reynolds) Alsip. He married Pam Maltby on August 17, 1994 in Pine Hills. Rick is survived by his loving wife, Pam Alsip of Dongola; two sons, Mike (Sarah) Alsip of Anna and Justin Tyler Alsip of Dongola; two step-sons, Adam Smith of Cowden and Robert Smith of Clinton; five grandchildren, Aaleya, Makayelah, Autymn, Alexis and Arison Smith; brother, Mitchell (Penny) Alsip of Cobden; several nieces and nephews; best friends, Sam Vernon (Justin Waid) of Dongola; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Cassandra Alsip; brother, Albert Leon Alsip; nephew, Christopher Dwayne Alsip; father in law, Steven Maltby; and best friend, Bill Shelton. Rick worked sixteen years for the Anna Tree Nursery. He enjoyed the outdoors and enjoyed fishing with his family. He was an avid Chicago Cubs Baseball and Kansas City Chiefs Football fan. Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Pastor Ron White officiating. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. and until the service at 4:00 on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home. Envelopes will be available.
