Richard Wayne Edwards

Richard Wayne Edwards, age 85 of Olmsted, died Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at his home. He was born October 27, 1935 in Wolf Lake, the son of Claud and Velma (Kenney) Edwards. He married the love of his life, Norma Jones on June 25, 1958. Together they shared 63 years of marriage before her passing on October 5, 2020. Richard is survived by his two sons, John (Trish) Edwards of Olmsted, Larry (Jeanette) Edwards of Goreville; six grandchildren, Emilie Edwards of Olmsted, David (Rene) Edwards of Harrisburg, Shawna (Danny) Stilley of Goreville, Faelynn (Michael) Hammond of Goreville, Amber (Aaron) Brown of Karnak, Debbie (Ben) Karakos of Yellville, AR; seven great-grandchildren, Roman, Zoey, Daxton, Kathryn, Ben, Elaina and Natalie; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Edwards; father and step-mother, Claud and Kathryn Edwards; wife, Norma Edwards; one brother, Frank Edwards; four sisters, Ople Rowley, Hellen Butterfield, Betty Bierbaum and Irene Sauerbrum. Richard was a member of Campground Church for many years. He was retired after 30 years of service with Lowes INC kitty litter plant in Olmsted. Richard will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Services will be held privately for his family.
