Richard Cooley

Mr. Richard Cooley, age 64 of Dongola, died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at his home. He was born March 24, 1953 in Dongola, the son of Leonard and Marie (Hines) Cooley. He married Brenda McCommons on August 5, 1968 in Missouri. Richard is survived by his loving wife of forty nine years, Brenda Cooley of Dongola; daughters, Missie (Tim) Freburg of Fenton, MO, Shelly Clark of Dongola, Georgia Allen of Willisville, IL; grandchildren, Jeffrey Williamson, Megan Johns, Christopher and Payton Needham, Hanna, Sydney, and Katelyn Allen; great-grandchildren, Daylon, JJ, Bentlee, Laken and Sophia; brothers and sisters, Leon Cooley of Anna, Marceline (Bill) Bohannon of East Alton, Vernita Brafford of Herrin, Janelle (Lynn) Eudy of Jonesboro, and Earl Cooley of Dongola; many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; great grandson, Rhyker; brothers, Delene, Lowell and Larry Cooley; and one sister, Loretta. Richard was an avid crappie fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. He worked as a painter and a truck driver and later worked in maintenance and dietary at Jonesboro Rehab and Nursing Center. Funeral services for Richard Cooley will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
