Raymond Eugene Wood Raymond Eugene Wood, age 71 of Anna, died at 9:50 am, Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. He was born on March 26, 1941 in Reynoldsville, the son of Raymond L. and Elizabeth (Tripp) Wood. Raymond is survived by his wife, Ruthene Wood of Anna; his mother, Elizabeth (Tripp) Bennett of Burbank; one son, Daniel (Rena) Wood of White Plains, KY; two daughters, Sandra (Kenneth) Dowdy of Ullin and Brenda (Bill) Poole of Mill Creek; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Ricky Wood of Clarksville, TN and Randy Wood of Chicago. Raymond was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Ronnie and Russell Wood and an infant sister. Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Army and he worked as a CPA most of his life. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Raymond Eugene Wood will be conducted at 12:00 pm, Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Anna Cemetery with the VFW Chaplain officiating. Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery. Military Funeral Honors will be conducted at the graveside by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the VFW of Anna and the Illinois National Guard Funeral Honors Team of Marion. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the graveside and at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
