Raymond "Stringbean" Theis

Raymond "Stringbean" Theis, age 85 of Anna, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 6, 1940 in Balcom, the son of William and Mollie (Angell) Theis. He married Opal Schnaare on March 3, 1963. She preceded him in death on December 7, 1997. In 1998, he married Georgine Connolley. She preceded him in death on April 20, 2018.

Raymond is survived by his children, Darren Theis, Sende Theis and Rachel Mathew; grandsons, David Roy Mathew, Jr. and Derek Alan Mathew; sister, Marie; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wives, parents and siblings, Mary Louise, Elsie, Wilhelmina, Lena, Alvin, Carl, Edwin, Norman, Otto, Emma, Howard, Gilbert, Charlie and Larry.

Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 of the VFW. He enjoyed playing cards and going to horse races. He loved spending time with his family and will certainly be missed.

Graveside services for Raymond "Stringbean" Theis will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Christian Chapel Cemetery in Dongola.  Military honors will be conducted by Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 of the VFW and the Army Funeral Honors Team. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of arrangements. Family and friends may gather from 10:30 am until the service time at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at the cemetery. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers. memorial contributions can be made to Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 of the VFW. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery and at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home.
