Ray Dean Wilson, age 63 of Jonesboro, died Sunday, October 25, 2020 at his home. He was born May 28, 1957 in Alton, the son of James "Bill" and Erma (Sims) Wilson. Ray is survived by his mother, Erma (Sims) Shelton; son, Michael Wilson; grandsons, Dylan and Mathew; step-sisters, Lori (Greg) Klein of Jonesboro and Judy (Charley) Martin of Wickliffe, KY; nephew, Heath Tellor; aunts, Eleta Poole of Dongola, Betty (Neal) McCormick of Olive Branch, Leda Krone Meyer of Jackson, KY, Neta (Bruce) Whitley of Elgin, Pamela (Richard) Lose of Elgin, and Carol (Ray) Williams of Aroura. He was preceded in death by his father, James "Bill" Wilson; step-father, Clinton Shelton; sister, Wendy Tellor. Ray went to grade school in Wood River and attended high school in Anna. He started playing baseball in Wood River when he was 6 years old, and he played football at A.J. High School. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan after moving to Denton, TX and living there for 30 years. He liked playing pool and going fishing. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Brother Jay Franklin officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. All those attending are required to wear a face covering and observe social distancing guidelines. Maximum occupancy of the building will kept to 25 people at a time.
