Randall "Randy" Lawrence IIIOn June 6, 2015, Randall Lawrence III, 65, died surrounded by his wife of 26 years, Danon, and father-in-law, Ted Austin.He was preceded in death by his parents, Randall Lawrence Jr. and Mary Lawrence, brothers Richard and Robert Lawrence and mother-in-law Mary Austin.Survivors are his wife Danon and his father-in-law, Ted Austin, both of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; a brother, Steven Lawrence of Cobden; a sister-in-law Linda (Robert) of Cobden; special nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.He was a high school graduate of Cobden Community High School, class of 1967 where he lettered in baseball and basketball. He graduated from Kaskaskia Junior College, in Centralia in 1969.After working in the insurance industry, he took over the family business in Cobden, the Lawrence Box and Basket Factory. He and his wife Danon, later sold the business and relocated to Fort Walton Beach, Florida, where he worked in security/property management prior to his illness. He loved living in Florida, spending time at the beach and playing bridge.His family said that Mr. Lawrence will be remembered for his sense of humor, his great capacity to love others and his committed sense of loyalty to family and friends.Graveside services will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, October 2, 2015 in the Cobden Cemetery with the family officiating. Masonic services will be conducted by the Masonic Lodge #466 at the cemetery. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
