Pleas J. Yon Sr.

Pleas J. Yon Sr. age 72, of Jonesboro, died Monday, October 1, 2019 in the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He was born February 23, 1947, the son of Vernon Lewis and Rosie Lee (Jackson) Yon. He married Sharon Kay Montgomery. She preceded him in death on January 12, 2011. Pleas is survived by his son, Pleas Jr. (Rhonda) Yon of McClure; three grandchildren, Toni Ledbetter, Orry Dale, Harley Yon (Terry Blake); five great-grandchildren, Stephen, Derrik and Nicholas Ledbetter, Landen and Jocelyn Blake; sisters, Frances Faultn of Oceola, AR, Mildred Smith of Desoto, Mo, Patricia (Rickey) Hunter of Dover, AR; brothers, Henry Yon of Cahokia, Donny (Nancy) Yon of Marissa, Roger (Marie) Yon of East Cardelet; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon Kay Yon; three sisters and three brothers. Pleas Sr. worked many years as a steel fabricator in construction. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting and fishing. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2019 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden. Interment will be in the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m. Friday in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
