Phyllis Clark Higgins Dallas Sharp Grisham

Phyllis Grisham, age 65 of Anna, passed away September 2, 2026. She was born October 25, 1960 in Memphis, TN the daughter of Milburn and Agnes (Bonds) Clark. She married Edward Grisham on July 28, 2000.

Phyllis is survived by her loving husband, Ed Grisham; daughters, Dawn (Tim) Latham, Erin (Brian) Pragacz, stepdaughters, Lottie (Mark) Smith, Becca (Ian) Marx; son, Hunter Grisham; grandchildren, DJ Higgins, Adam Neal, Jaida and Kaylee Smith, Jeffery Campbell, and Emma Kohler; sister, Becki (Tommy) Smith; brother, Dean Clark Jr.; niece, Marissa Scholz; nephew, Bobby Brothers; other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and nephew, Scott Brothers.

Phyllis worked for Florsheim Shoe Company from 1989 until their closure in 1992. She went back to college and became a LPN in 1994, accomplishing her lifelong dream. Phyllis later worked for Union County Hospital. She assisted in the organizing drive at the hospital with the Laborers’ International Union of North America. She became union steward and then chief steward at Union County for Loal 508.

After nursing for seven years and chief steward for six months, she went to work for the Central Illinois Laborers’ District Council as a Field Representative for healthcare workers in the district. This decision did not come easy. Phyllis loved nursing and believed strongly in the union and felt this would provide her with opportunities to help other healthcare workers. She should be remembered for her strength, caring, compassion and dedication to help others in their time of need.

Phyllis in recent years developed a love for crocheting and enjoyed making different things for her family. She enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and spending time with her family and fur babies.

A celebration of life will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the Anna Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Randy Wright officiating. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the Anna Church of the Nazarene.
