Phillip Robert 'Bob" Goins

Phillip Robert "Bob" Goins, 90 of Cobden, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020 at his home.He was born on July 8, 1930 the son of Fred and Marie (Chittick) Goins. He married Phyllis Sadler. She preceded him in death on January 16, 2020.He is survived by 2 sons, Tim (Debbie) Goins of Marion and Phillip Raymond (Leslie) Goins of Louisville, Kentucky; his step-children, Pam Peterman, Leona Bone, Jim, Sue, Billy and Jennifer Stone; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Betty Crippen of Carbondale; 1 brother, John Goins of Mounds; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He later retired from the National Guard. He continued serving his fellow veterans as a maintenance worker at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. He later worked as a security guard at Penn Aluminum in Murphysboro.Graveside funeral services for Phillip "Bob" Goins will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2020 at Casper Cemetery with Rev. Carl Dillow officiating. Interment will immediately follow. Graveside military rites will be conducted. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the cemetery.Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
