Philip J. Gebbia

Mr. Philip J. Gebbia, age 85 of Dongola, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, May 13, 2018 in his home. He was born on June 22, 1932 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Joseph and Jennie (Misuraca) Gebbia. He married June (Davis) on December 12, 1958. She preceded him in death. Philip is survived by his children, Philip (Heidi) Gebbia of Dongola and Tracey (Klaas) Wolterstorff of Grand Rapids, MI; seven grandchildren, Ian, Keller, Noah, Betsie, Marie, Nina and Kees; two great-grandchildren, Brooke and Caleb; one sister, Rose Mangano of Homer Glen; sister in law, Linda Gebbia; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, June Gebbia; brother, Joseph Gebbia; and brother in law, Sam Mangano. Philip served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a mechanic for many years and worked on lift trucks and other auto equipment. When Philip wasn't spending time with his family, he was spending time helping other people. Funeral Services for Philip J. Gebbia will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 in the Cornerstone Reformed Church in Carbondale with Rev. Nathan Brunaugh officiating.
