Penelope Jane "Penny" Hicks

Mrs. Penelope J. "Penny" Hicks, age 65 of Anna, died at 5:55 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. She was born February 21, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of Walter and Amelia Ludwig Sladen. Penny is survived by her three sons, Christopher (Kerry) Hicks of Carbondale, Charles (Theresa Bowman) Hicks , and Mark (Jessica Voss) Hicks all of Marion; two daughters, Rhonda (Chris) Cundy of Hibbing, MN, Amie Constable of New Albany, IN; sixteen grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia (Paul) Meacham of Carbondale, and Sandy (Ben) Casey of Anna, two brothers, Walter (Carolyn) Slayden of Clearwater, FL, and Anthony (Peggy) Slayden of Denton, MD; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Penny worked as a sales associate for Wal-Mart for a number of years. Funeral services for Mrs. Penelope J. "Penny" Hicks will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Interment will be in the Big Creek Cemetery.
