Pearl Jane Harvell, age 97 of rural Carbondale, formerly of Anna Jonesboro, died at 12:35 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017 in her home. She was born March 31, 1920 in Elco the daughter of Ira James and Grace Ellen (Shaffer) Bridges. She married Thomas Noble Harvell on December 10, 1936 in Tamms. He preceded her in death on May 11, 1987. Pearl is survived by her children, Dale (Dorothy) Harvell of Jonesboro, Wilma "Jackie" Hoyle of Anna, Melvin (Clara) Harvell of Jonesboro, Kimberly (Curt) Guetersloh of Carbondale; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren and one on the way; lifelong friend, Lesley "Buz" Prather; furry companion, Clemmie.; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Noble Harvell; son, Norman Douglas Harvell; three brothers and four sisters. Pearl was a member of the Elco Baptist Church. She loved cooking and spending time with her family. Her family said her chicken and dumplings will be greatly missed. Funeral services for Pearl Jane Harvell will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Randy Morgan officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 am until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
