Paul Edward Simpkins

Mr. Paul Edward Simpkins, age 77 of Anna, died at 12:28 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at home. He was born December 25, 1938 in Chicago, the son of William Issac and Lelia (Lewis) Simpkins. He married Margarett "Monnie" Snell on September 1, 1962 in Ware. Paul is survived by his loving wife of fifty four years, Monnie Simpkins of Anna; son, Ken (Lisa) Simpkins of Lick Creek; daughter, Paula (Preston) Hall of Cobden; one grandson, Colin Hall; three nieces, Kathy Knox, Fawn Harris, and Lynn Graves; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Helen Deering, and Gladys Gowin; two brothers, Norman C. Simpkins and William Thomas Simpkins. Paul proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1963. He was a member of the Anna Heights Baptist Church. Paul was retired from Olin Brass Mill where he worked for over forty two years as a Quality Control Inspector. Paul enjoyed fishing and working outdoors in his yard, during his later years he and Monnie enjoyed traveling and taking cruises. Funeral services for Mr. Paul Edward Simpkins will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in the Anna Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Rhodes and Pastor Darryl Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Mound City National Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by area Veteran's and the Navy Funeral Honor Detail. Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 10:30 Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in the Anna Heights Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Celtic Hospice. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna and at the church.
