Paul E. Groves

Mr. Paul E. Groves, age 86 of Anna, died at 10:52 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 in the Illinois Veteran's Home in Anna. He was born January 18, 1929 in Wolf Lake, the son of Fred and Stella (Wilson) Groves. He married Patricia Ann Thorne on February 7, 1952 in Anna. She preceded him in death on April 23, 2014. Paul is survived by his two sons, Michael Paul Groves of Minooka, IL, Patrick Jay Groves of Cordova, TN; one daughter, Paula Marie Jones of Anna; seven grandchildren, Christopher Groves, Katie Groves, Kristie Jones, Alicia Faulhaber, Peter Groves, Sarah Groves, and David Groves; two great-grandchildren, Trinity Beckmann and Patricia Williams; three sisters, Mary Ballance of Wolf Lake, Lois Scholz of Ashburn, VA, and JoAnn Ondrak of West Valley City, Utah; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; spouse, Patricia Ann Groves; one grandchild, Steven Groves; two sisters, Betty Plott, Doris Phillips; and one brother, William "Bill" Groves. Paul was retired from Catepillar after working many years as a machinist. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Paul was a member of the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna. Services for Mr. Paul E. Groves will be held privately by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
