Paul Wayne Gibson

     Paul Wayne Gibson, age 77 of Dongola, formerly of Alto Pass, died Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at home with his family by his side. He was born May 14, 1948 in Anna, the son of Rev. Johnnie Beauford and Lucille (Sides) Gibson. He married his childhood sweetheart, Shirley Clover. Paul was just 12 when he saw Shirley for the first time in church. He told his mom and dad on their way home, he was going to marry her, and he did on August 21, 1971. Together they have shared fifty-four wonderful years of marriage.

     Paul loved his church first and foremost. He was a member of the Trinity Pentecostal Tabernacle in Jonesboro for many years. He was an auto body man by trade and loved working under the hood to keep them running and looking good.

     Paul is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Gibson of Dongola; three children, Kenny Gibson and friend, Angelina of MO, Greg and wife Belinda Gibson and Dorena Gibson all of Dongola; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two more on the way; one sister, Linda and husband Bill Wright of Anna; other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Skylar Ray Gibson; one sister; two brothers; and in-laws, Glen and Mildred Clover.

     Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the Trinity Pentecostal Church in Jonesboro with Rev. Bryan Tinnin officiating. Interment will follow on the family homestead in Dongola. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2026 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions are preferred to the Trinity Pentecostal Church. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home and the church.
