Paul E. Bohannon

Paul E. Bohannon, age 87 of Anna, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at SIH Herrin Hospital in Herrin. He was born September 2, 1938 in Royalton, to Roy Lee and Vera (Butler) Bohannon. He married Jane Pender on June 28, 1963.

Paul is survived by his wife, Jane Bohannon; daughter, Alisha (Scott) Schlenker of Anna; granddaughter, Brittany Schlenker of Anna and grandson, Brandon Schlenker of San Francisco, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert and William Joel Bohannon, and sisters Emma Trammel and Esther Grimm.

Paul graduated from Royalton High School in 1956 and attended SIU. He worked in sales for Lewis Brothers Bakery for 34 years. Paul enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and Saluki basketball fan. He enjoyed his annual trips to Myrtle Beach and having lunch at Dairy Queen with all his friends.

A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.  Interment will be private at a later date.
