On February 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at home, Patsy Shelby peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born on September 10, 1936 to Raymond and Genova (Wright) McCall of Perks, Illinois. She married Edward Shelby on July 7th, 1989. He preceded her in death on September 15, 2019.
She was a devoted mother to Phillip Osman; David (Karla) Osman; Daniel (Regina) Osman; Patricia Astin (Steve); Alesia (Rodger) Patterson; and Kim (Chuck) Conway.
She was a proud and cherished grandmother to 13 grandchildren: Scott (Sonia) Osman; Brandon (Jennifer) Osman; Steven (Kelsey) Osman; Jamie (Jason) Thompson; Daniel (Heather) Osman; Joshua (Kelly) Osman; Liza Osman; Whitney (Robert) Whitehead; Brooke (Ethan) Toedte; Brock (Nikki) Patterson; Justin (Elizabeth) Brimm; Mackenzie (Nicholas) Cook; and Kyle Conway. Her legacy continues through 23 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, each one bringing her immense joy and pride.
Patsy dedicated 27 years to shaping lives as a cosmetology instructor at Shawnee Community College. Many former students still lovingly refer to her as “Ms Patsy,” a testament to the lasting impact she had not only on their careers but on their lives. Prior to her years of teaching, she owned and operated her own home beauty shop, while raising her children. She kept busy growing her own food, canning what she harvested, tending animals, and creating a home built on hard work and love.
Patsy enjoyed sewing, fishing, reading, baking, and cooking. She was especially known for her chicken and dumplings and her quick and flawless pie crust and for the love she poured into every meal she made. In her later years, her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family. Nothing meant more to her than having her home filled with children, grandchildren, and laughter.
She was a faithful Christian and a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. She was also a dedicated member of Anna Moose Lodge and an active participant in the Women of the Moose, where she formed meaningful friendships and faithfully served her community. While she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is whole, healed, and at peace.
