Patricia "Pat" A. Lewis

Patricia "Pat" A. Lewis, age 80 of Kissimmee, FL, formerly of Anna died on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Advent East Hospital in Orlando, Fl. She was born March 2, 1941 the daughter of John Bruce "JB" and Vivian (Marlow) Presley. She married William "Bill" A. Lewis on August 24, 1963 in Murphysboro. Pat graduated from Murphysboro High School in 1959. She and her twin sister loved to sing, dance and perform. She then graduated from DePaul Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis in 1962. She worked as an RN for 3 years in DePaul Hospital and became a supervisor over the orthopedic ward. She married her husband, Bill, while he was attending St. Louis University School of Law, in 1963. They moved to Anna, Illinois in 1965. She worked briefly at the Union County Hospital and then devoted her full time to raising her daughter. In 1986 she developed an interest in assisting the developmentally disabled, so she became a licensed nursing home administrator, opened New Way, a facility for the developmentally disabled, and pursued her dedication to the mentally disadvantaged until retiring in 2004.Pat's other major interests were golf, racquetball, reading and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Union County Country Club for 46 years and Kokopelli Country Club in Marion, Illinois for several years. She played in numerous racquetball and golf tournaments over the years. Pat has enjoyed wintering and playing golf in Reunion, Florida with Bill and friends since 2009. She will be remembered as kind, compassionate, comforting, giving, funny, competitive, and feisty.Pat is survived by her husband, William A. Lewis; daughter, Mary Margaret Lewis (Rick) Hardesty of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexandra Hardesty; twin sister, Kay Presley DuHasek; brother-in-law, Jack Lewis Jr; sister-in-law, Mary Della Lewis; many nieces, nephews and cousins whom she adored. She was preceded in death by her parents; her in laws, Jack and Josephine Lewis; step sister, Mary Beth Wilton and her granddog Skittles. Funeral Services are pending at this time.
