Opal Joy Osman

Opal Joy Osman, age 98 of Anna formerly of Dongola, died Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Union County Hospital in Anna. She was born September 6, 1920 in Carlisle AR, the daughter of James Lee and Eliza Leona (Beggs) Waters. She married Wayne E. Osman on September 13, 1944, he preceded her in death. Opal is survived by her son, Terry B. (Sharon) Osman of Anna; four grandchildren; Tia (Thad) Brown, Jamie (Kevin) Toole, Shane (Jennifer) Osman, and Eric (Janice) Osman, seven great-grandchildren; Catlin (Luke) Hodnefield, Cassidy Brown, Josiah Brown, Bryce Osman, Gavin Osman, Addison Osman, and Avery Osman, daughter-in-law; Jasmin Osman of Louisville KY, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne E. Osman; son, Jerry W. Osman; brothers, Carroll and Cecil "Arkie" Waters and sister Tressie Dallas. Opal was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Dongola, for many years. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2019 in the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. LaRue Parr officiating. Interment will be in the Dongola American Legion Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. in the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
