Mrs. Opal Banks, age 97 of Anna, died at 4:05 am, Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Jonesboro Rehab and Healthcare Center. She was born on September 24, 1917 in Eldorado, the daughter of Herbert and Nora (McClellan) Simmons. Opal was united in marriage to Clyde Banks on February 14, 1959 in Shawneetown.Opal was a member of the Lockard Chapel Baptist Church.Opal is survived by her husband Clyde Banks of Anna; one son, David (Nancy) Yetto of Colchester; one daughter, Lynn (Ronnie) Stewart of Monee; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.Funeral services for Mrs. Opal Banks will be held at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Jack Richardson and Rev. Bob Richardson officiating. Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 12:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lockard Chapel Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
