Oliver G. Ridgway

Oliver G. Ridgway, age 81 of Anna, died Sunday April 3, 2022 at the Marion Veterans Community Living Center. He was born November 18, 1940 in Anna, the son of Donald and Velda Mae (Green) Ridgway. He married Glenda Sloan who preceded him in death on December 21, 1999. He later married Phyllis Womack who also preceded him in death on October 20, 2010. Oliver proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked for over 39 years at Kroger as a meat cutter. He was a member of the Jonesboro First Baptist Church. Oliver is survived by his friend, Charlene Fairless of Jonesboro; cousins, Darla Dobbins of Cummings, GA, Debby Beckinger of Nashville, IN, Randy Brown of Nashville, IN and Deanna Wilson of St. Charles, MO; second cousin, Bobby Spicer of Creal Springs; best friend, Robert "Cal" Callaghan of Lake Clear, NY; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by wife, Glenda Ridgway; wife, Phyllis Ridgway; brother, Steven Ridgway and sister, Brenda Ridgway. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Bill Littrell officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery in Cobden. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour of 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Military funeral honors will be performed by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the VFW in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honors Team of Marion.
