Norris Benner Muckelroy, age 64 of Carbondale, passed away, Thursday, March 6, 2025 at his home. He was born August 19, 1960 in Jonesboro, the son of Loren Benner "Benny" and Cecilia (Norris) Muckelroy.
Norris is survived by his mother, Cecilia Norris of Carbondale; children, Holly (Alex) Casteel of Equality, Erin (Liam) Moher of Fairborn, OH, Matt Lampe of Campbell Hill, Lissa (Jon) Mendenhall of Wellington, CO; ten grandchildren, Lincoln Moher, Brayden Howell, Thaxtyn Casteel, Annistyn Casteel, Dawson Dykema, Aibyn Casteel, Zellyn Casteel, Alex Casteel II, Axle Casteel and Emma Mendenhall; brother, Ben (Elvira) Muckelroy of Makanda; nephew, Marat Muckelroy; two nieces, Alina and Milana Muckelroy; beloved fur companion, Roscoe; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Benny Muckelroy.
Norris was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Carbondale. He dearly loved and appreciated all his church family, especially all the conversations he had with Pastor Jay through the years. He worked for Penn Aluminum in Murphysboro in the maintenance department until his retirement. He was a model train enthusiast and enjoyed watching westerns. Norris holds a special place in everyone's heart, he will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Pastor Jay Holden officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:30 a.m. and until the service at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions are preferred to the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses.
