Mr. Norman Douglas Harvell, age 69 of Jonesboro, died Friday, January 8, 2016 at his home. He was born May 3, 1946 in Delta, the son of Thomas Noble and Pearl Jane (Bridges) Harvell. Norman is survived by his mother, Pearl Jane Harvell of Anna; daughter, Shannon Palmier of Anna; son, Bryan Harvell of Jonesboro; one grandchild, Caleb Harvell; brothers and sisters, Dale (Dorothy) Harvell of Jonesboro, Wilma Hoyle of Anna, Melvin (Clara) Harvell of Jonesboro and Kim (Curt) Gutersloh of Carbondale; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father. Norman proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked may years as an iron worker and was a member of the Iron worker Local #782 of Paducah, KY. Norman loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Caleb. He loved to cook and would host Sunday dinners for his family. He enjoyed fishing and practical jokes. Graveside memorial services for Mr. Norman Douglas Harvell will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016 in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna. Friends are asked to go directly to the Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life for Norman following the graveside service at the Carrol P.Foster Post 3455 V.F.W. in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for an educational fund for Norman's grandson, Caleb. Please make checks payable to Caleb Harvell. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home and at the cemetery.
