Norma J. "Grammers" Baggott

Norma J. "Grammers" Baggott, 83 of Cobden, passed away peacefully at home and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus at 11:10 am, Friday December 14, 2012. Norma was born to Dennis and Ethel (Messamore) Bevil on December 18, 1928. She married Conrad W. Baggott on July 16, 1949 in Cobden, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1988. Norma is survived by her children Cynthia (Gerry) Boehne of Cobden, Dennis Baggott of Cobden, Conrad Wayne Baggott of Salmon, Idaho, and Darren (Michelle) Baggott of Anna; grandchildren, Melissa (Billy) Pind of Anna, Ashley (Walter) Jackson of Vienna, Chris Baggott and Miranda Baggott of Anna; step-granddaughter, Carla (Matt) Carter of Temecula, California; great-grandchildren, Cadence and Karsen Pind of Anna, Mackenzie, Kaylin and Callie Mae Jackson of Vienna; step-grandsons, Ryan and William Carter of Temecula, California; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and four sisters, Edith Johnson, Mable Furst, Ruth Bevil and Mary Bevil. Norma was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Cobden. She loved to play the piano and sing for her Lord. Norma began her working career as a hairdresser. She was a technician at the Anna State Hospital for a number of years. At the age of 53 she then returned to school to follow her passion for nursing and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She enjoyed many years of providing nursing care at Hillside Terrace, City Care Center and Mulberry Manor. Up until her passing she worked as an aide for Chamness Care in Cobden. "Grammers" was famous for her double angel food cakes. Funeral Services for Mrs. Norma J. "Grammers" Baggott will be conducted at 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden with the Rev. Ed Falgout and Rev. Cliff Heil officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden on Tuesday, December 18 from 5 until 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carmi Baptist Children's Home. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden.
