Nina Brown, age 92 of Cobden, died Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin. She was born March 31, 1929 in Pittsfield, the daughter of Charles Everett and Monacrista Belle (Rogers) Coleman. She married James "Bill" Brown on December 1, 1984 in Park Ridge. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2021. Nina is survived by her two daughters, Linda (Ed) Nolen of Decatur, Cindy Malone of Cobden; step-sons, Charles (Beverly) Brown, Robert (Lisa) Brown; step-daughter in law, Linda Brown; three grandchildren, Jeromy, Jonathan and Jared Fox; six step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; thirteen step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-granddaughters; two sisters, Geraldine Brown of Rienzi, MS, Bernadine Smith of Altamont; three nieces; one nephew; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Brown; step-son, Michael James Brown; and two sisters, Charlene McGuire and Helen Ellis. Nina was a devoted member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church in Carbondale. She enjoyed attending church faithfully with her husband. She and Bill worked together on many projects around their home during their retirement years. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 11, 2021 at the Our Savior Lutheran Church in Carbondale with Pastor Robert Gray officiating. Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Our Savior Lutheran Church.
