Neil David "Jake" Harris, age 53 of Anna, passed Friday, August 22, 2025 at St. Louis University Hospital. He was born January 23, 1972 in Murphysboro, the son of David Louis and Norma S. (Blankenship) Harris. He married Valerie Gaddis on June 26, 2021.
Jake is survived by his wife, Valerie Harris of Anna; mother, Norma S. Harris of Alto Pass; son, Brayden Charles Harris of Mansfield, AR; step-sons, Sean (Chesney) Imgrund of Beebe, AR and their 3 sons, Joshua Murray (John Robinson) of Jonesboro; step-grandchildren, Lane, Matthew and Declan Murray; sister, Mary Kay (Bryan) Harris-Miller; mother in law, Betty Eagle of Anna; two aunts, Donna (Don) Grammer of Alto Pass and Lynn (Garry) Vincent of Makanda; uncle, Gib Blankenship of Ava; nieces, nephews, cousins; other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, David Louis Harris; maternal and paternal grandparents.
Jake was a wonderful son, husband and father. He was best known as "Jake the Snake", his radio personality, when he worked for various radio stations in Southern Illinois and St. Louis, MO. Jake had an extensive vinyl record collection and was an avid Star Wars fan.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2025 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Davy Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. and until the service at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2025 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions are preferred to the Autism Society of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
