Mr. Neil Casper, age 65 of Jonesboro, died at 5:45 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 in Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. He was born March 22, 1951 in Anna, the son of Loy and Betty (Bollinger) Casper. Neil is survived by his mother, Betty Crain of Freeburg; cousins, Lisa (Rick) Hicks, Bobby Boyd, Steve Casper, Jerry Casper, Sandy Williams, Pam Casper, Rik Hicks, Cortni Hicks, Shane Boyd and others; nieces and nephews, Joda Cunningham and others; two half sisters, Cindy Wenger of Collinsville, and Bonny Jo Rotman; aunt, Mary Casper; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; sister and brother in law, Mary Ann (James) Jones; and uncle, Walkie Casper. Neil was an Iron Worker for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam as a Para Rigger. He loved antiques, collecting knives and was a collector of many things. He was active with Ducks Unlimited for many years. Funeral service for Mr. Neil Casper will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Randy Morgan officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honor Team of Marion. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
