Nancy Sue Young, age 78 of Anna, died Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born May 6, 1945 in Anna, the daughter of Lowell Auburn and Juanita Ertis (Wood) Young.
Nancy is survived by her two daughters, Ilse Pierson of Dongola and Laura Pierson (Mark Miller) of Anna; two grandchildren, Victor (Malaka) Rodriguez of Colorado, and Cole Moreland of Anna; great-grandchild, Persephone Juno Rodriguez; four brothers, Larry (Ann) Young of Whittington, CA, Kent (Melinda) Young of Anna, Woody (Robbie) Young of Kiln, MS, and Randy (Tonya) Young of Marion; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Karen St. Arbor.
Nancy worked many years for Moore Business Forms and later for LKY Trucking as their bookkeeper. She was incredibly artistic, she was very involved with the Anna Arts Center, serving as their past president. Nancy was an advocate for Women's rights and Women's movements. Her generous heart and kindness led her to donating thousands of her crocheted hats to NICU babies. She was hardworking and was willing to help others.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. Everyone attending is encouraged to wear bright, vibrant colors, preferably orange, that was Nancy's favorite color. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Anna Arts Center or a NICU of your choice. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
