Nancy Jane "Isabelle" Throgmorton

Mrs. Nancy Jane "Isabelle" Throgmorton, age 87 of Alto Pass, died at 8:07 pm, Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Jackson County Rehab & Healthcare Center. She was born on May 8, 1926 in Makanda, the daughter of William "Bill" Pharis and Carmen Melissa (Beecher) Heern. Isabelle married Joe Throgmorton on September 11, 1948 in Makanda. Isabelle was a member of the Congregational Christian Church of Alto Pass. She led congregational singing at church for many years. Isabelle was an avid fisherwoman and she opened her home to everyone. All who came were well fed and very comfortable. She was a wonderful cook and worked hard all of her life. Isabelle retired from the SIU Police department as a secretary and book keeper. Most of all she will be remembered for her faith in God and her regular attendance at all of the church services. Isabelle is survived by her husband, Joe Throgmorton of Alto Pass; her children, Nancy (Gilbert) Gee of Carbondale, Rebecca "Becky" (Mickey) Gillespie of Pawnee, Cami (Ermal) Sorrels of Jonesboro and one daughter-in-law, Lorrie Throgmorton of Advance, MO; eight grandchildren, Tanya(Dan) Dadosky of Milford, OH, Shonda Sorrels of St. Louis, MO, Melissa Jostes of Springfield, Michael Gillespie of Pawnee, Becca (Jimmy) Pyle of Carol Stream, David Joe, Victoria and Ricky Joe Throgmorton of Advance, MO; three great-grandchildren, Isabelle and Sydney Dadosky of Milford, OH, and Aden Jostes of Springfield; one sister, Margaret Mae Lindhorst, of Makanda; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one son, David Throgmorton; her parents; one sister, Ellen Hilton and four brothers, Sam, Ira "Pinky", Jess and William "Doodle" Heern Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Jane "Isabelle" Throgmorton will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Congregational Christian Church in Alto Pass with Rev. Gilbert Gee and Rev. Bryan Morrison officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Makanda. Friends may call from 1 until 2:00 pm at the Congregational Christian Church in Alto Pass on Sunday June 30, 2013. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Evergreen Cemetery in Makanda. Envelopes will be available at the Congregational Christian Church of Alto Pass and the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
