Myra L. Bowen

Myra L. Bowen, age 77 of Lick Creek, died at 4:45 pm, Sunday, March 11, 2012 at her home in Lick Creek. She was born on August 8, 1934 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Vern L. and Pauline (Casey) Gurley. Myra married William L. "Bill" Bowen on March 28, 1954 in Jonesboro. He preceded her in death on May 15, 2003. Myra is survived by a daughter, Dishona (Wesley) Wright of Anna; one son, Greg (Elizabeth) Bowen of Lick Creek; five grandchildren, Stephanie Bowen, Brandon K. Wright, Kristen (Jeremy) Stegle, Casie (Bob) Thomas and Nedom Bowen; three step-grandchildren, Kelsey, Erica and Ethan Friebel; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Bowen; a granddaughter, Nikki Bowen; her father and Mother-in-law and brothers and sisters-in-law. Myra was a member of the Ebenezer Hall Presbyterian Church in Lick Creek. She loved to care for her children and grandchildren and was an avid vegetable gardener and loved to cook. Funeral services for Mrs. Myra L. Bowen will be conducted at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with the Rev. Jay Franklin officiating. Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 from 5 until 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
