Murriel Snyder

Mrs. Murriel Snyder, age 86 of Cahokia, formerly of Cobden, died at 10:43 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014 in the Carbondale Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born October 19, 1928 in Makanda, the daughter of James P. and Nona L. Green Wright. She married Jimmie M. Snyder on January 21, 1960 in St. Louis, Missouri. Murriel is survived by her husband, Jimmie M. Snyder of Granite City; two foster children, Michael Stringer and Melissa Gurney; one sister; Beulah Pribble of Herrin; niece Evelyn Hileman of Anna; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Murriel was a member of the Jerome Lane Baptist Church in Cahokia for many years. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Murriel Snyder will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014 in the Evergreen Cemetery in Makanda with Rev. Ivan Ryan officiating. Inurnment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Makanda. Friends are asked to go directly to the Cemetery.
