Mrs. Mildred V. Duty, age 94 of Cobden, passed away at 4:20 P.M. Monday, December 6, 2010 with her daughter Bonnie and Son Ronnie at her side. She was born January 2, 1916 in Alto Pass, the daughter of Harrison and Ethel Lovena Dillow King. She married Alvie Duty on January 18, 1934 in Anna. He preceded her in death on September 7, 1989.Mildred is survived by 2 daughters, Bonnie White of Cobden and Lois Stacey of Herrin; five sons, Bud (Donna) Duty of Cobden, Gerald (Ann) Duty of Murphysboro, Joe (Ellen) Duty of Cobden, Francis (Tonya) Duty of Cobden, Ronnie (Mildred) Duty of Carterville; eighteen grandchildren; thirty nine great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Haskins of Carbondale; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvie; two sons, William Lee and Ivan Doyle; grandson and great-grandson; two sisters, Marie Stearns and Nellie Braggs; and two son-in-laws. Mildred was a member of the Limestone Baptist Church. For many years she farmed with her husband and raised their family. She loved her flower garden, sewing and quilting. Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred V. Duty will be at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 9, 2010 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden with Rev. Randy Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 P. M. Wednesday December 8, 2010 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden. Memorial contributions may be made to the Limestone Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden
