Michael D. Stoner

Michael D. Stoner, age 66 of Anna, passed away Friday, August 29, 2025. He was born on September 2, 1958 in Anna, the son of Billy G. Stoner, Sr. and Valetta Joy (Gurley) Stoner.

He is survived by his children, Angel Michelle Stoner (Jeff Sherrill) of Jonesboro and Austin Michael Stoner of Anna; former wife and mother of his children with whom he remained friends, Angie Stoner; bonus granddaughter, Adelle Sherrill; brother, Billy G. Stoner, Jr.; nieces and nephew, Andrea Stoner, Katie (Ross) Kopher and David (Rachel) Stoner; cousins, Cheryl Anderson, Tom and Gayla Stoner, Ronnie Golding and Crystal Knight. He is also survived by his former mother-in-law, Phyllis Miller; brothers-in law, Jon (Kathy) Miller, Ron Miller and Joe (Jenny) Miller and nephews, Drake, Bryce, Dusty, Nathan, Matthew and Charlie Miller.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, George and Helen Stoner and Ralph and Opal Gurley; father-in-law, Carol Miller; aunts and uncles, Pauline Ridinger, Bob and Jody Stoner and Nancy and Dave Knight and cousins, Terry Williams, Sheri Page and Doug Stoner.

Michael was a member of Anna Heights Baptist Church. He began his career as a firefighter with the city of Anna, later becoming fire chief before retiring in 2014 after 28 years of service to his community. He was a loving father and husband that enjoyed spending time with his family. Together, they enjoyed many family vacations and camping trips. He enjoyed music and fishing and had a passion for health and fitness. Anyone traveling through Anna has surely seen Mike riding his bike or walking his beloved dogs, Bentley and Toto.

Memorial services for Michael Stoner will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, September 5, 2025 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Pastor Darryl Williams officiating. Inurnment will follow in Ebenezer Hall Cemetery. Friends may gather from 10:00 am until the service time at noon on Friday, September 5, 2025 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Mike's honor can be made to his family to assist with final expenses. Envelopes are available at Rendleman and Hileman funeral Home.
