Merle Walker, age 81 of Jonesboro, died Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Marion V.A. Medical Center. He was born August 27, 1940 in Jonesboro, the son of Henry Willard and Elnora Elizabeth (Reynolds) Walker. Merle is survived by his life partner of 30 years, Marjorie Rendleman of Jonesboro; sons, Joe Walker of Cape Girardeau, Tony (Cathy) Rendleman of Murphysboro, John Rendleman of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Jordyn Rendleman, Jared Rendleman, Johnny (Eunice) Rendleman, Lily Helleny; great-grandson, Legend Rushing; brothers, Joe Walker of Lake of Egypt, John (Karen) Walker of Pawnee; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bill Walker; and brother, Richard Walker. Merle was retired from CIPS as a boiler operator. He loved riding his motorcycle and enjoying life. Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2021 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Randy Morgan officiating. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. and until the service hour at 4:00 Monday, October 25, 2021 at the Funeral Home. Military rites will be conducted immediately after the service by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. and the Illinois Army National Guard Funeral Honor Team of Marion.
