Matella J. Tucker

Matella J. Tucker, age 89 of Jonesboro, died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in Union County Long Term Healthcare. She was born May 6, 1929 in Dongola, the daughter of Ernest Clyde and Ida (Lingle) McIntosh. She married Ralph Tucker on February 11, 1946 in Blytheville, AR. He preceded her in death.Matella is survived by her son, Randy (Alice) Tucker of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Kevin (Nicole) Tucker of Jonesboro; great grandson, Reed Tucker; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph Tucker; son, Dennis "Denny" Tucker; two sisters, Ruie Keenan and Attaleen Wortman.Matella was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. She worked at the AJ Water Commission for over forty-one years and for the City of Jonesboro for twenty-eight years.Funeral services for Matella J. Tucker will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home of Jonesboro with Bill Littrell officiating. The family asks that friends and family dress casually for her services. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the Union County Hospital Resident Activity Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
