Mary M. Ward

Mrs. Mary M. Ward, age 86 of Cobden, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the Rehab and Care Center in Cobden. She was born March 19, 1925 in Dexter, KY, the daughter of Clarence Elvis and Hattie Duncan Phillips. She married Francis L. Ward on December 24, 1946 in Steeleville, IL. He preceded her in death on March 28, 2007. Mary is survived by four sons, Joe Allen (Debra) Ward of Chester, David L. Ward of Cobden, Fritzy Lee (Janet) Ward of Prior, OK, Michael Ward of Cobden; one daughter, Mary L. (Wayne) Crossman of Winchester, IL; twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Franklin Phillips of Kalamazoo, MI, Robert Phillips of Metropolis; two sisters, Pansy Pritchett of Dexter, KY and Novella Carroll of Murray, KY; other relatives and many friends. Mary was a member of the Limestone Baptist Church in Cobden for many years. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary M. Ward will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2011 at the Limestone Baptist Church in Cobden with Rev. Bob Dover officiating. Interment will be in the Limestone Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, July 28, 2011 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden and after 10:00 a.m. Friday until the funeral hour at the Limestone Baptist Church in Cobden.
