Mary L. Walker

Mary Louis Walker born November 26, 1929 to Henry and Hattie Lohman Walker was in Peoria, Il and passed away December 15th 2023. She was one of 9 siblings, 3 passed in which away in childhood.  Mary's connection to the Chamness family began nearly 50 years ago when she lived at City Care Center. Their paths crossed again in the mid 2000's and she has been with Chamness Care since.

Mary completed school up until the 5th grade. She was an avid reader of magazines and novels. She attended Map training Center for many years.  She lived with her friends Sharon, Babette and Elizabeth.  Sharon & Mary were roommates for more than 20 years. Mary was quite the historian, recalling stories from "way back when". Mary passed away at the age of 94, becoming Chamness Care's oldest resident ever.  She was so loved and will be missed.

Services for Mary at 11:00 a.m. Thursday December 21, 2023 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. and until the service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Anderson Cemetery near Boaz, Illinois at a later date
