Mary Josephine Robinson

Mrs. Mary Josephine Robinson, age 92 of Goreville, formerly of Ottumwa Iowa, died at 9:46 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Union County Hospital in Anna. She was born March 12, 1920 in Douds, Iowa, the daughter of Lemuel Leroy and Ada Waddell Griffin. She married John L. Robinson on June 1, 1940 in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 15, 2008.Mary is survived by her daughter, Janet Louise (Perry) Young of Goreville; one son, James Louis (Connie) Robinson of Goreville; nine grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John L. Robinson; one son, John LeRoy Robinson; and one sister, Neva PlowmanMary was a member of the Methodist Church in Ottumwa, Iowa. Mary was a 6th grade teacher for the Ottumwa Iowa Communtiy School District for 38 years. According to Mary's wishes she will be cremated. Services will be held at a later date at the Leando Cemetery in Douds, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
