Mary Jane Norton

Mary Jane Norton, age 94 of Alto Pass, died Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in Manor Court in Carbondale. She was born January 5, 1924 in Cobden, the daughter of John and Hildegard (Sweitzer) Lamer. She married Bob Norton on August 19, 1939 in Union City, TN. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2010. Mary is survived by her son, Tim (Brenda) Norton of Jefferson City, MO; one granddaughter, Kimberly (Russ) Maschek of St. Charles, MO; four great-grandchildren, Ava Asbury, Stella Mae, Russel Richard III and Mary Eleanor Maschek; two brothers, David Lamer of Anna, and Marvin Lamer of Carbondale; one sister, Donna Leming of Carbondale; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Bob Norton. Mary was a member of the Congregational Church in Alto Pass for many years. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Alto Pass with Rev. Danny Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 on Saturday, November 17 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Alto Pass. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alto Pass Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
