Mary Ruth (Miles) Mcgowen

Mary Ruth McGowen, age 96 of Anna, died Friday, October 4, 2024, at Jonesboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was born on May 4, 1928, in Anna, the daughter of Willie and Grace (Dunn) Miles. She married Ralph D. McGowen on October 7, 1969. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1995.

Mary is survived by her children, Mike (Flo) Stanley of Jacksonville, Florida; Carolyn Landis of Makanda; Vickie (John) Moore of Jonesboro; Sandra Nimmo of Vienna and Joe (Misty) Stanley of Paducah, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph McGowen; two brothers and two sisters.

Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cobden. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and embroidery. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mary McGowen will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, October 11, 2024, at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden. Interment will follow in the Cobden Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 11:00 am until the service time at noon on Friday at the funeral home.
