Mary D. Light

Mary D. Light, age 78 of Rural Dongola, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at her home. She was born February 5, 1943 in Waukegan, the daughter of Harold James and Esther Ethel (Bourland) Frick. She married Robert Carlyn Light on September 28, 1963 in Mt. Pleasant. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Carlyn Light of Dongola; daughter, Darla (Jason) Lingle of Dongola; granddaughters, Cheyenne Lingle and Shaylee Lingle (Zach O'Neal) all of Dongola; fur babies, Holly and Tracy; three sisters, Maxine (Michael) Pixley of Basalt, CO, Janice (Harold) Davis of Conway, SC, Barbara (Juan) Hash of Plano, TX; two brothers in law, Gaylon (Cindy) Light of Desoto, Lee (Betty) Light of Dongola; several nephews and nieces; special friends, Lou Curdie and Bobby Stevens; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mary was a member of the Maple Grove Baptist Church in Perks and enjoyed attending the Southern Range Cowboy Church in Goreville with her husband. She retired from Choate Mental Health where she worked twenty years as a Tech. Mary loved raising vegetables and goats on the farm. She was a member of the Anna Order of the Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society. Mary was a social butterfly, and loved attending events and traveling. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2021 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Jason Forby officiating. Interment will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery in Dongola. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. on Friday December 17, 2021 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Range Cowboy Church or the Maple Grove Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
