Mrs. Mary E. Hodges, age 86 of Woodstock, IL, formerly of Cobden, died Thursday, April 23, 2015 in the Centegra Hospital in Woodstock. She was born June 10, 1928 in Pomona, the daughter of Albert and Lettie Wilmouth Nipper. She married Thomas F. Hodges on June 14, 1975 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2000. Mary is survived by one brother, Willis E. (Elois) Nipper of Alto Pass; one sister, Frances (Jacob) Krepps of Cary, IL; one sister in law, Ilene Nipper of Granite City; four nieces, Brenda (Harlin) Czeschin of Bland, MO, Betty Sue (Don) Mull of Granite City, Carol Gallo of Chicago, Rosemary (Chester) Mall of Lynwood, IL; five nephews, Lawrence E. (Karen) Clover of Murphysboro, Merle D. (Cindy) Nipper of Perryville, MO, Danny Nipper of Granite City, Terry (Michelle) Nipper of Granite City, and Tony E. Nipper of Redford, MI; great nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas F. Hodges; two sisters, Paulene Clover and Eileen Nipper; six brothers, Russell D. Nipper, Richard U. Nipper, Pearl A. Nipper, Merle A. Nipper, Roscoe L. Nipper, and Vernon R. Nipper; two sisters in law, Jean and Betty Nipper; one brother in law, Lawrence Clover; and three nephews, Jack, Jeff, and Perry Nipper. Mary was a member of the North Shore Baptist Church in Chicago for many years. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary E. Hodges will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden with Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 11:00 a.m. in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden.
