Mary Helen Hickam

Mrs. Mary Helen Hickam, age 93 of Anna, formerly of Cobden, died at 8:39 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 in the Anna Rehab and Care Center. She was born October 1, 1921 in Cobden, the daughter of Henry and Carrie Cavaness Harbaugh. She married Roy A. Hickam on September 20, 1940 in Jackson, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2002. Mary Helen is survived by her loving daughter, Gayle (Charles) Yates of Cobden; two grandchildren, Christina (Christopher) Dewitt and Charles F. Yates II; three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Makayla and Noah Dewitt; two sisters, Betty O'Donnell of St. Louis, Nellie Brown of Metamora; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy A. Hickam; one brother, William Harbaugh; and one daughter, Sharon K. Hickam. Mary Helen was a member of the Anna Church of the Nazarene and the Eastern Star. She worked for many years for the Anna State Hospital as a mental health technician. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden. Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Friends may call after 12:00 noon and until the service hour at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden.
