Mrs. Mary Madeline Flach, age 91 of Huntsville, Alabama, formerly of Anna, passed away peacefully at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in the Madison Manor in Huntsville, Alabama. She was born June 24, 1923 in East St. Louis, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Nicole Willoughby. She married Edward Flach on February 14, 1946 and dedicated her life to her husband and four children. Mary is survived by her two sons, Tom Flach and spouse Judy of Toddville, IA, Jim Flach of Carbondale IL.; daughters, Nancy Massey and spouse Bryan of Memphis, TN., Mary Ayers and spouse Tim of Huntsville, AL.; grandson, Joshua Ayers and spouse Kimberly of Huntsville, AL.; sister, Laura Fleming of Lady Lake, FL.; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Ed Flach; and brother, Joseph Willoughby. Mary worked as a dental assistant after graduating from St. Therese's Academy in East St. Louis, IL. At the age of sixty-six, she began a new carrier as a greeter at Wal-Mart in Anna. Mary retired after fourteen years of service at the age of eighty. Mary was an accomplished artist and received numerous local awards for her beautiful paintings. She will always be remembered for her kind, caring, gentle nature and beautiful smile. She will be missed by all that knew her. Special thanks to all the staff of Madison Manor Nursing Home, and Comfort Care Hospice for their loving and compassionate care they provided for our mother. Funeral mass for Mrs. Mary M. Flach will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 in the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anna with Father Federico Higuera officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. The rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Arc at 139 Bo Cole Rd Huntsville Alabama 35806. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
