Mark D. Benson

Mr. Mark D. Benson, age 54 of Jonesboro, died Thursday, May 22, 2014 at his home. He was born January 30, 1960 in Aurora, the son of James William Benson and Margarette Francis Cunningham. Mark is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth (Matthew) Mannerpaac of Crystal Lake, IL; one son, Scott (Chelsea) Benson of Des Plaines, IL; one grandchild on the way; father, James William Benson of Jackson, TN; mother, Margarette (Joe) Waldrop of Tuscola, IL; brothers and sisters Michael Benson of Mead, CO, Marcia (Marlo) Woolcott of Champaign, IL, Joe (Laura) Benson of Anna, Cynthia Benson of Anna, Stephen Benson of Sycamore, IL, and Matthew Benson of Mattoon, IL; other relatives and many friends. Mark enjoyed life; he had a great sense of humor and enjoyed helping others. He was a self proclaimed carpenter. Mark will be dearly remembered by all who knew him. According to his wishes, Mark will be cremated. A memorial service will be held in Batavia, IL and will be announced at a later date.
