Marilyn Pender

Marilyn Pender, 81 of Cobden, died Sunday, April 3, 2022 at her home. She was born on January 7, 1941 in Carbondale, the daughter of Clarence E. and Mary (Stanley) Dillon. She married Paul Pender on November 5, 1983. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2022. She is survived by her sister, Linda Dillon Garner Parks; a stepson, Karry (Sondra) Pender; step grandchildren, Justin (Lindsey) Pender and Christopher Pender; step great grandchildren, Cole, Shelby and Jaydra; nieces and nephews, Tami Garner Ury, Susan Witthoft, David Witthoft, Rick Garner, and Austin Moore; great nieces and nephews, Bailey Street, Presli Garner, Dylan Witthoft, Grayson Garner, and Drake Moore; as well as many close members of Paul's family. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a sister, Sharon Dillon. Marilyn served her country in the United States Air Force, she spoke of her fear when she was required to jump out of an airplane. She continued to serve as a registered nurse at the Veteran's Medical Center in Marion. She loved to travel, line dance and take care of her many pets. Memorial services for Marilyn Pender will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2022 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden with Rev. Ed Falgout officiating. Family and friends may gather from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour at 1:00 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden. Memorial contributions can be made to PAWS. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
