Mrs. Marian Watkins, age 91 of Anna, died at 11:43 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016 in the Union County Hospital in Anna. She was born September 13, 1924 in Rock Falls, IL, the daughter of Claude and Myrtle Eva (Duncan) Hargis. She married Garvice T. Watkins on September 13, 1946 in Sandoval. He preceded her in death on June 23, 2005. Marian is survived by her three daughters, Ramona Winn of Lakewood Village, TX, Conda (David L.) Nave of Anna, and Clarinda (John) Miller of Anna; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Daniel) Theis, Tonia (Steve) Benefield, Aaron (Toni) Burch, Timothy Miller, Shelly (Mike) Wright, Karamie (Jonathan) Waller; two step-grandchildren, Rose and Roxann; seven great-grandchildren, Caleb and Megan Theis, Parker and Kaysee Benefield, J.R. Wright, Elliana and Elizabeth Waller; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Garvice T. Watkins; one sister, Phyllis Hargis; one brother, Kenneth (Irene) Hargis; great-grandson, Trevor Benefield; and two sons in law, Norman Burch and Ken Winn. Marian was a member of the Saratoga Church for many years. She graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1946 with her Bachelor of Science. She worked as a secretary for Garvice Insurance. Funeral services for Mrs. Marian Watkins will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Interment will be in the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery in Lick Creek. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saratoga Church. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
