Maria Del Refugio Amesquita

Mrs. Maria Amesquita, age 56 of Cobden, lost her battle with breast cancer early Sunday, September 11, 2016 at her home. She was born September 20, 1959 in Mexico, the daughter of Alfredo and Marie Dolores (Cavazos) Muniz. She married J. Jesus Amesquita on July 28, 1975 in Tallahoma, TN. Maria is survived by her loving husband, J. Jesus Amesquita of Cobden; children, Celia (Abel) Godinez of Anna, Jesus Amesquisa Jr. of Cobden, Ricardo (Tiffany) Amesquita of Mt. Vernon, Maribel (Daniel) Alvarado of Arkansas, Martin Amesquita of Cobden, Ignacio (Carolyn) Amesquita of Carbondale; grandchildren, Benjamin, Diego, Romeo, and Juliet Godinez all of Anna, Daniel, Raquel, Enoch, and Emilia Alvarado all of Arkansas, and Anna Lucia Amesquita of Carbondale; siblings, Daniel (Laura) Muniz of Texas, Santos Fidel Muniz of Florida, Maria de la Luz Muniz of Florida, Jesus (Norma) Muniz of Florida, Candelo (Francisca) Muniz of Florida, Victoriana Muniz of Arkansas, Juanita Maria (Jose) Carmen of Tapia, TX., and Jose Alejandro Muniz of Florida; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Maria de la Luz Amesquita and brother Humberto Muniz. Maria was a strong woman who always put her family first. Even through her own struggle she dedicated her strength to caring for others. She was well known for her cooking and hospitality, welcoming everyone into her home with love. She touched many lives with her kindness and generosity. We wish we would have had more time, but even though she is gone, she has left the legacy of her love and perseverance. Funeral mass for Mrs. Maria Del Refugio Amesquita will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2016 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cobden with Father Uriel Salamanca officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden and after 12:00 noon and until the service hour at 1:00 Saturday, September 17, 2016 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cobden.
